- Maintain in house "do not mail" list of prospects & customers who do not wish to receive future marketing

- Try lighter weight paper for the same impact with less used
- Seek suppliers that source paper from sustainable forests and not from illegally harvested wood (Look for Forest Stewardship Council or SFI certified paper)
- Select paper with at least 30% post consumer recycled content
- Print using soy based or biodegradable inks
- Look for paper that is processed chlorine free
- Evaluate impact of paper choices with an Environmental Paper Assessment tool (www.epat.org)
- Identify paper supplier close to printer to reduce transport
- Select printer using waterless printing along with biodegradable or soy inks
- Use environmentally benign adhesives
- Incorporate “Recycle Please” logo on pieces (www.recycleplease.org)
- Consolidate and optimize workflow to print/ship in bulk
- Find printer employing renewable energy
- Purchase carbon credits to offset impact
- Donate to local biodiversity and conservation efforts
- Develop environmental procurement policy for entire company
